My wife & I will be coming out from Georgia in mid/later May for a couple days of bass fishing. We come out yearly as my Dad has a little place and we typically have some success but we've never been able to come out this early in the year (typically it's been later in the hot summer months & occasionally in November). We typically focus on the northern part of the lake both before and on the northern side of the 155 bridge and key on the cypress trees (when the lake is up enough), the lily pads (when there were islands of them until they disappeared a number of years back), etc. Just wondering if anyone can offer input about the typical bite at this time of year. My Dad's boat doesn't have significant electronics so we don't really do any off-shore type fishing and are more confident fishing shallow. We've cught plenty and numbers in the 3+lb area but not bigger and I am confident that this lake has them. Any tips or insights to offer? Much appreciated!!

I’ve had grealuck in Hurricane and the cove just south of it.
Fishing should be awesome when your there.

Excellent! Yes, we've fished in the Hurricane area a time or two as well and might give that a go. Thank you!

Go to the Lone Star ramp and fish south if lake is up.

KYKX Big Bass Bonanza is May 2, 3, and 4th. Stay away unless you enjoy mayhem!

We are headed down to LOP in two weeks. Will be there the week leading up to the BBB.

I have the hot spots and Martins maps. Would y'all recommend getting the boat lanes chip?
