Grew up in La Coste, Texas
Only had to dial two numbers when I was a pup. Went to four numbers in the sixties I think..
Later became PO2.
If you wanted to call Castroville you had to dial KE8.. Still a local call at the time..

Not that I remember... But we had a Party Line... Always felt sorry for the people we shared the line with because we 8 kids ... Pretty sure we hogged all the hours of the day... Dan

No, but I had the OG Cali phone # prefix for years. Was upset when our company switched carriers and forced the new prefix on us.
