Fished yesterday from 10 am until 7 pm. Spent the 1st 5 hours fishing for bass with fellow TFFr Mark. (aka markson on TFF)) We caught a dozen or so bass & 1 catfish b4 I took Mark back to the ramp at 3 pm to head back to Conroe. At that point I headed back out for the Hunt for Monster Sunfish. Tried 5 different spots & drowned a Gulp Alive minnow until completely dead without a single bite. Last year it was the last week of April when they showed up. Last week the water temp had reached 80 degrees so I was hoping they would be active by this week...well, the water temp dropped to 70 with the last few cool nights, so guess it has to be a consistent temp for a week of so b4 they get going.

Was heading back to the ramp & decided to try a spot for bass out in the middle of the lake I have never fished b4. On the 3rd or 4th cast I hooked into a giant. She put up an epic fight with 3 jumps but finally succumbed to the net. The bass was big number 12 for 2025 & ended up going 5 lbs. 13 oz....I really thought she was over 6, but the scale would not budge no matter how many timed I bounced it. rolleyes

Always a good time fishing with fellow TFF'ers. Awesome post and fish as always. Good job guys. cheers

Side Note: Steve: There are a couple of spots I fish that hold some very nice sunnies. They have always showed up to play the last week of April. confused 3

wug...Hope the wind is better for you than predicted. (Friday-12-19 with gusts to 35) The wind has been brutal so far this year. Pete probably knows a few good places that has good wind breaks. Looking forward to reading your trip report...

Thanks Curtis, Zane, thrash, Doc, GT & Chuck...
