Imagine how much of a hard turn this takes if was one of Martin's buddies, or if it was Upshaw feeling "obligated" again.
Why does it matter- I’ve never worried about breaking a rule in a tournament- if someone is breaking the rules it’s all on them. Why would we care about you? The burden of proof was on an anonymous protester. What proof has been offered? Scott's video was not him confessing . He states its all untrue and took a poly. Any other take on this is opinion. I will tell you why they remain anonymous, they KNOW they have skeletons in closet. Other than two of the hammer bros, everyone seen them cheat on tv last year. I guess more pickle jar rules?

How do we even know its an Elite series angler that turned him in, Latimer had an interesting video recently and he is a South Carolina angler, and believe him and SM had a falling out few years back.

I think it should be anonymous- people are less likely to snitch if they think they’ll get heat from fan(atics)… It often seems that those who feel less confident or secure are the ones who prefer anonymity when reporting others. There's a belief that if you're going to accuse someone of something that could impact their life or career, you should stand by it and take responsibility for your actions by acknowledging it publicly. In the context of bass fishing, it's hard to understand what they're so afraid of are they worried that a rogue fan might sabotage their gear or something? And by golly, the right to confront your accuser is covered by the 6th amendment. It's downright un-American to anonymously accuse someone of something. The right to confront your accuser, guaranteed by the Sixth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. This isn’t action taken by the government, this is a private matter- one they all signed up and agreed to beforehand. No one is holding a gun to heads and telling you to fish the elites… Yeah, yeah, but it's the principle of the matter. Any freedom loving American would agree that anonymous accusations are downright douche worthy.

I watched a G-man interview last week where he was adamant about rules on soliciting lake information. He was asked about Okachobee and SM - he was adamant again - it was a violation. The interview looked it pre-dated the latest SM update

I'm not sure why G is getting called out for being a b.? To me, he is just shooting straight and in favor of a strict inforcement of rules everyone agreed with their signature to abide by.

Why does it matter? If he took and passed the poly or could prove it was fraud then it would matter! And that person should be exposed. When u take ur ball and go home and play victim it just proves guilt!

Definitely some “unfinished business”…. what’s funny is the fellas here defending Scott, he made this choice- this is 100 percent on him, he didn’t walk away to keep his honor or to prove a point ..

Luke Duncan had an interesting take in his LBL with Lee Livesay. Apparently SM called and texted Luke, he did not reply. This is from my short overloaded memory, but apparently the waypoints SM provided for Kentucky Lake had come from another angler, who knew the individual on Kentucky Lake and may have been a reporter.
I guess at the end of the day it is sad to see this [censored] happen in a sport we love. But there are rules.
Y'all have a great day.

I like Scott. Have nothing against him. But as long as I've been fishing tournaments, usually when there is smoke around a person, there's fire. Hate to say it. But its prolly true.

Definitely some “unfinished business”…. what’s funny is the fellas here defending Scott, he made this choice- this is 100 percent on him, he didn’t walk away to keep his honor or to prove a point .. BASS is partly responsible For the 1st DQ BASS praised Martin for self reporting and has stuck to this, while others throw out unconfirmed reports of an unseen video and put all this together to make him look bad or worse. I think Martin thought he was going to self report his incident and BASS was going to clear him with a no harm no foul, and allow him to compete on Lake O. That did not happen and Martin felt he was slighted. Fast forward to last week and I think Martin definitely is playing in a grey area that many probably also play. He feels he was completely legit in what he did. He was confronted and BASS had options how to proceed here. BASS could have told the protestors to put up or shut up, but they did not. Martin taking his ball and going home is a bad look, but his options were limited. He took a poly which he would have not admitted to if he failed, but he passed. In America, he would not have been found guilty of anything. This is not a gov entity and he is out of BASS. Labeling him a cheater can get you libel and BASS sure knows this as do many pod casters who wont touch this. His poly can not be used in most states for criminal prosecution, but in many states it is for civil matters, and in all states if used with and expert witness. If he choses to go after someone for libel or slander, they better have some proof. Hi spoly is proof he did not do what he was accused of
