NRX+872s with a Shimano Stella Not a bad “middle of the road” setup. You should try the new Steez Reel Control rod with an Exist. Next thing you know, you’ll be telling me to ride in a Skeeter. It’s only money.

As much as I like Falcon, I can’t get onboard with their spinning rods. The way the grip is designed is asinine. Well hell! I was gonna 100% recommend a Falcon Lowrider “Shakyhead” spinning rod. I have a few of them, because I like them and they are absolutely a steal at $129. The Daiwa reel is a good choice, but I think a 3000 size is a little better for bass fishing a senko. The slightly larger spool seems to have a little smoother drag and better line management. Either way….slingin’ senkos on a spinner is a blast! I have caught a few DD bass with it last year. Skipping docks is a lot of fun. Make sure you use 20lb braid to a 12lb leader. Which type of leader is personal preference. I like INVISX. But some docks have rusty pilings and maybe ABRAZX might be better. Also, you should try Berkley Fusion weighted wacky hooks (1/16th). Hook the senko exactly behind the “egg sack” and it will drive those fish nuts! Welcome to the “DEI” of bass fishing. I love my spinners with their bright pink braid! Steez, where can I pick up a Falcon shaky head rod local to the metroplex?

I am certain that Southwest Parts and Service on Mockingbird & Irving Blvd will have a few. They always have a great selection.

I know you want a spinning set up but I been using a bait caster Kast king Zephyr with a Falcon medium rod. 100 or less for set up. Biggest I've landed on it was one close to 7 a weeks ago. Two over 5 last week. I am liking it.

Awesome! I don’t have the luxury of being close to tackle shops loaded down with bass gear. Academy down here is a joke on bass stuff. My best option on Falcon is just ordering straight from them. The only Falcon dealer I have is about 10 mins from here but they usually don’t have what I’m looking for. I didn’t see any Lowrider spinning rods in there for example. Just Bucoo and one Expert That’s why I’m on here when I want to get a new rod, because I don’t have the option to “try before I buy” when it comes to them nice bass rods

NRX+872s with a Shimano Stella I have both an 872s and 852s NRX+ and both are a little stiff for weightless wacky. A little softer tip gives you more carry and will skip much better.
