I hope you swore those 3 ladies and the dog to secrecy, I don’t trust anyone knowing where my morel patch is.

Tell me more. How do you find them? Clean them and cook them? Apparently, there is quite the following of these and I have about 1000 acres of wilderness that I can go look for some and try.

Looks like some very good eating

Seeing your dog made me wonder if a dog could be taught to find morels, like the pigs and dogs used to find truffles.

I don't know about Ouachita county but we used to find them in Crawford and Franklin county Arkansas.

I grew up in the midwest and used to walk the woods every spring and find them. Now i am in the desert of central texas and haven’t found one in 20 years. Good eats fer sure.

[quote=JRGOCARDS]Will the hogs wipe out the morels?

I don't know if hogs specifically target morels, but I've ran across patches of ground that looks like it's been gone over by a runaway rototiller.
If they were just after mushrooms, I don't know why they would root up large areas of ground.
