Got this Flathead fishing up in the hill country at one of my spots. The fish weighed in the 7 lb. range. Also caught three nice Channel Cats all between 3 to 5 founds. Fish were released to fight again. Fish were caught using cut bait on a float. I also had several gar runs, but could not get them hooked. Catching some fighting cats on a quite hill country river bank. It just don't get any better.

Nice catch. Used to catch quite a few on the Blanco way back when I was in school down there. Of course the Blanco had much more water then.

Thanks TRH for the reply. Yes Sir, I fish the Blanco regularly and it's still a good catfish fishery. There are still areas on the river holding good water, especially at the State Park. Areas above the State Park are holding some good water as well. I was glad to see that a lot of the hill country got some much needed rain this past week. It can use a lot more.
