I have a retrax, really like it same here. I like it also. It is sliding though, not folding. I have it on an F250. It takes up a little space in the front of the bed but doesn't interfere with sheets of plywood or 2x'4s etc. It was about $2K installed.

I have the Retrax because I have a gooseneck hitch, just helped my son install the diamond back and if I didn’t have a gooseneck that’s what I would have installed, it has two flip up hatches on each side behind the cab then a large one at the rear, mine was 2k I think his was 2700

Well, I took a close look at a bunch of em, and found em to all be terribly expensive... and they didn't solve my mission. I wanted a hard cover that offered some level of protection and had an integrated tool box built in. I loved my deep tool box and didn't want to give it up....so I bought a $300 Ebay special tri-fold hard cover and modified it to integrate my existing tool box into the cover. It took about 2 hours to accomplish it. It's proven to be very effective to date in that it's both sealed up the bed of my truck from h20 as well as made it a bit more time consuming for thieves to break into the bed of my truck. NOW, IMOP, if they want in bad enough they're going to break in no matter what cover you choose to install. You're trying to make it a more difficult for them to do it... noisy and time consuming. I previously had a soft cover that proved ineffective...thieves style $2k worth of tools out of the bed of my truck at public parking lot in SHV, LA. It probably took em less than 5 minutes. Terrible timing as I was on my way back from working at my hunting/fishing camp and met my wife in SHV for dinner and a show. Hence the search for a better option.

LOMAX Professional series is what I have is what I have. Been great. Not 100% leakproof but darn close. I have kept bags of feed back there in a hard rain without them getting wet and 2 road trips to Canada keeping stuff safe and dry.
Seems is was pricey (around $1.1K) but got it on when the truck it was new. 15 minute no drill installation. Taken it off a couple of times but a bit of a PIA getting it aligned and back into place for a single person but with 2 it takes < a minute. Very happy.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

Backflip here as well. It serves its purpose. Comes with a 5 year warranty and they tacked on another 5 on top of that.

I have a tri-fold model called Extang. I've had it on the truck since I purchased new in 2016. It has been stellar until recently when I found the seals not keeping out water. They have an excellent lifetime warranty, if you register when purchased, I have a claim in for new seals just waiting to get shipping.

Once you get your bed cover figured out, the next thing you need to look at is a tailgate seal. If you spend any time at all on dirt roads dust will come in through the tailgate and get trapped by the cover, and everything inside totally covered.
A lot of the newer model trucks come with a seal, but even with those it is good to add a weather strip as a second barrier. Not a big issue if you are always on pavement, but I spend a lot of time on dirt roads and dust is a very big deal.
