What reason would you have as his guide to not show all of it and cut it like that. Come on Chris just think about it. Its super obvious.

I agree with you Barrett. Looks like Kyle did and that could explain the awkward hook set.

That's not what happened. They were scoping that fish, and Kyle had his hand out telling him when to set the hook. The fish freight trained the bait, he set the hook and the rod popped out of his left hand and he quickly recovered it by grabbing the rod behind the reel. Which was a damn good recovery.

Looking real good TPWD.
I guess they feel pressure to keep that Toyota sponsorship money flowing.

It’s a damn shame. I’m sure the guide was all for it and will profit from it.

TPWD has already corrected their initial statement, by saying that the fish will be treated and released after she is healed up from being caught. It's best for the fish to go to Athens, be stress relieved, receive whatever fish care meds they administer, then released. What if they just snapped a couple pics, chunked her back and she was a floater a few hours later.

The Tff gets better and better. You are now trying to tell me that a 3 hour ride in a back of a truck and another 3 hours in a livewell saved the fished life because she would have been floating if just caught, weighed and released. Surely you cannot think people are this stupid right. Josh, is that you?

Yep, I am. The Josh comment, classic idiotic comment. You wouldn't have fish like this in these lakes, if it wasn't for TPWD. Guess what, the fish is still alive. Give me the data on the fish they kill from transport. You won't be able to.

Kyle has been on the 6 staff for quite a while. Jason Conn didn't snag that fish. In the mouth, fair and square. The video catch is out there.

He released a video about a week or 2 back about “ the big deal” so I’d say wrong on that. And as far as the other goes I don’t believe everyone was in agreement on that.

Ok, if I am incorrect on Kyle's affiliation with 6, I'll take it. Which 17lb catch are you pointing to? The Jason Conn fish in 2023, or Brody Davis in 2022? I believe you are referring to the Brody Davis fish in 2022, and I mistakenly thought you were pointing to the 2023 catch.

No there was quite a debate on here with the Conn fish

How do you snag a fish in the mouth? I guess I just see something different. Even if it was a snag, it's still a caught fish. They reel them in all the time on live Bassmaster.

Tpwd has killed more 13 plus pound fish then any single 1 person or organization in history. It’s incredibly simple but I really appreciate the fact you think a glass aquarium and a 6 hour round trip to Athens saved the fishes life. The angle you took on this one was incredibly difficult
but I do commend you lol

I'm interested in the data. You gave an answer like a liberal. Once again, show me the data of how many 13lb fish they have transported died, and how many didn't.

I’ll Be happy to call them tomorrow and ask for you James Walson. Unfortunately they don’t post the data that makes them look bad. They have killed plenty and it took me 39 years before someone accused me of being a liberal. I’ll say I did pretty good 🤣

I know of one from Fork that died in Athens after transport. This was years ago but it certainly did happen.

Lol, man I'm just messing with you. I truly am interested in the data. I asked the guy that does the Sharelunker posts on FB by private message, but I doubt he responds. I'm not a liberal either, we just have a difference in opinion. It's what makes America great, and frustrating at times.

I know there have been a few. Not disputing that at all. Just interested in seeing the data on total 13lb+ fish transported since 1986, and out of that number how many were successfully released. I also realize some have been used as displays for the remainder of their lives in Bass Pro Shops, as in Ethel and a few others. What kind of Harley you sitting on?

Used to be a FatBoy. Sold it when I moved back out to Midland. You will get crushed by oil field trucks on a bike. Not worth the risk to me out here. It was fun though!

There was one year not too terribly long ago where they killed the piss out of them. I’m just saying it’s strange to me they snagged this one up
And broke their own rules. Plus the fish was yanked off a bed while In the process of spawning. We literally intervened with Mother Nature. I think that’s stupid.
