Mine is a mess right now. Between the pollen and the wind blowing constant dust in it. I'm cleaning my filters this weekend and am about to order a second set of filters because I'm gonna do the shock change filters every day or 2 for the next week and get things in order. I have battled it for the last 2 months and lost....

Have zero experience with a pool. Do they make something like an absorbent mat you can throw in the pool that would absorb the pollen?

Shock helped a lot to clear the water but just knocked the [censored] onto the pool floor. My new robot has been working full time but can’t keep up.

I had to remove and clean our filters at least monthly when we had conditions like you mention. I kept a spare set of filters just to change them out regularly while I could clean the set I just took out. Lots of vacuuming and running the Polaris.

Just power washed filters yet again, this is a battle I’ll win as long as cold beer is available 💪

I have battled it for the last 2 months and lost.... Last summer, I drained and refilled mine when the water temp hit about 90 and I could not keep enough chemicals in it. That fresh city water was crystal clear and not one bit of green started to grow for over 3 weeks. Fresh city water is some good stuff. My pump dropped my pool in less than 8 hours. Cost for pump plus drain and fill was nothing compared to the cost of turning that pool back clean. Bonus 2, filling that pool kept my water temp in the 60s for a couple of days and another day or 2 in the 70s. While it was 105 my kids lips were blue. I kept my water crystal clear all winter for the fist time. I burned leaves all winter in my pit I battled that fine west Texas dirt too, that stuff is so fine my best Polaris bags can barely clean it. My pool game was strong this winter and I am prepared this year.

I have a sand filter. Backwash it when the pressure rises 10, keep chemicals in it and let the filter do its job. The pool runs 24/7 and is surrounded by pines and oaks. I’ve never had an issue in 20 years….especially after the sand filter was installed.

I use a skimmer sock to prefilter and clean it every day this time of year. Saves on DE in the filter by not having to backwash so often.
LET’S GO BRANDON!!!

Are y’all just laying the sock in basket? My rags are solid green, pools clear. Great idea.
