He has conned the middle class; the middle class will carry most of the tariff burden on their backs.

Great non answer. Complain but offer no alternative. I'm good so screw those that aren't. Seems the prevailing view here. Trump has said this was his plan for decades. Hes fighting for the middle class and fulfilling his promises. He's only been in office 3 months and everyone thinks all should be perfect immediately. I for one will pray for his success. I will pray with you. I will have faith that God is leading him and our nation.

What could get concerning here is Trump getting carried away with all of this, I really do not understand all the numbers (his chart). Don't think anyone really does at this moment. But it could go like this:
Country X: Ok Trump, you win, we will remove our tariff. Trump: Ok, but I think we will keep our tariff for a while because you been taking advantage of us all these years. What else can you do to sweeten the deal?

MERCY - not receiving what you deserve GRACE - receiving what you don't deserve Preach the gospel at all times; USE WORDS IF NECESSARY "It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness." I'd rather walk with God with no questions answered than to walk thru life without Him and know the answers

Everyone complains but i havent seen anyone offer another plan. how about leave everything alone we have been in a good place as long as i can remember It’s been a long time false high- I don’t know why any American thinks we should pay high tariffs to other countries and we not charge them a tariff in return. Please do some research and find out how tariffs work. Americans have never paid other countries tariffs. Other countries charge their citizens a tariff to buy American imports. We aren’t dumb- I understand exactly how it works- it’s works to stimulate local production by making products competitive with imports. Everyone for years has bemoaned the death of the middle class- a guy that could work a factory job to support his family in a meager middle class existence- those non skilled jobs left a long time ago, a mixture of government red tape and cheap imports. Trump is pulling the two levers he has to fix that and you’re upset because your 401k is down a bit. I don’t want to lose money either, but it’s only a loss if I cash in, plenty of buying opportunities currently…

Well wawi I'll make it simple for you....I would have preferred to get the dividends/profits I was counting on from some specific funds/stocks. But the orange doofus with his tariff cr*p was tanking those stocks/funds I had been counting on. So I cashed out while the getting was good, left 2% in some funds that had I cashed them out would have cost me money I wasn't willing to lose at the moment.
Folks can defend trump and his actions all they want. I don't or want to gamble right now that his "plan", such as it is, will benefit me in my retirement. I'll sit on the sidelines for 6 months and see what happens.
He wasn't tanking anything in January. And dividends haven't changed on anything so far. I'm not sure I'm buying your story. If you got out prior good for your and you should have your finger in the trigger to get back in with a portion very shortly

I think Bob is asking what would you do if you were president? No tariffs? Just let other countries tariff us? I honestly had no idea what I was being specifically asked as the question was generic. As I tell my wife; I never took a mind reading class at University. Now that I have clarity on the question; I would educate and stimulate the American people to live well below their means and then invest those savings for long term resource generation. In general, Americans live in a state of high compounding interest credit card debt. The more wealth you have saved by living frugally; the more you will have to invest in America’s future (buying low of course). The greater, and earlier these investments in our future, the more the wealth grows (at an ever compounding, multiplying rate). Shifting the focus of the typical American from short term consumer status symbols; to long term expanding wealth for all would make America greater.

Vehicle/income or vehicle/rent or mortgage ratio is a good metric for financial literacy. Driving a $60-80k muscle car that will be worth a tiny fraction of the cost in 10 years while living in a literal [censored] hole paying RENT is something I will never understand. Too many people just live above their means. I bet half the tff lives above their means.

That's all well and good, but it does nothing to address the issue of other countries taking advantage of us. Also keep in mind, other countries do not always take advantage of us with tariffs. Trump is just using tariffs to punch back. It's easy, and transparent. Note it says "Tariffs Charged to the US, including currency manipulation and trade barriers".
