If you had a crystal ball and you knew you were going to have 5 terrible years at the end of your life due to health issues of some kind that would drain your finances and put hardships on your family..................Would you trade the last good and healthy 10 years prior to avoid the 5 bad years and all that goes with it. Basically, would you give up the good years to avoid the bad years?

I`m great. I just remembered I took 50% of my investments out of the market in January and locked in 5.15% for the next 5 years. roflmao

Lots of good memories with family members at the end of their lives caring for them though.

It may seem like a simple either/or thought process-
In several ways I am living a similar description right now-

I was asked and had to decide that I wanted to loose my limbs and live without them, but if I refused the amputations I would not leave the hospital alive-

Soooooo, I can stay alive in this hospital and be somewhat pain free but paralyzed until I expire, or——

A lot of life as I knew it would never be the same, for myself or my loved ones-
I could go on but most of you already know the story -

Just saying, I actually had to make a similar choice to TPACK’s scenario above-

I did not avoid the bad years and I don’t regret it-

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

You are a inspiration in your post and accomplishments. You chose wisely. I read all your post. It's cool you get to play with the prosthetics. Definitely came a long way in that department from 40 years ago.

I have let Jesus Christ lead me through every day weather the days are good or bad . Jesus has my life in his hands and will guide me throughout this life on earth. I am just a sinner saved by grace. No matter how bad life can get, Jesus will always be there. angel2

Just take the wins and challenges as they come... A lot less stressful that way... Dan

My life changed overnight, March 3rd. 20221. Had 2 massive strokes after having covid in January, went from walking 4 miles a day to lucky to get down the driveway to pickup a newspaper. Extensive nerve damage on the entire right side of my body. I still consider myself blessed because the 6 of us stroke victims on the 6th. Floor I was the only one that got to go home. 4 went to nursing homes and 1 died. I also had about a dozen friends die from Covid including Mark Pack, Joe Admold, RT Tudor, Skeeter Fowler and some friends and co-workers up here in the panhandle. So live every day like it's your last because it might be.

my wife had an ischemic stroke day after Xmas on 12/26/23 . Our lives changed instantly . Can't even tell you how it affected my thought process about each day . Her and I committed to do everything possible to improve our lives and do better . total diet change for both , she's lost 30 lbs , exercises every day and feels really good . She still has tingling in her right hand at times and it took a year to get her walking without a
hitch . Never know when life get's serious .
Hope you can continue to get better
