We had a great time at crappiefest, meeting so many people and tff members it's impossible to remember all the names. I just want to say that it was a pleasure meeting each and everyone of you! Shout out to Eric for driving over 100 miles to shake my hand. You are a man of your word, You have my respect !

We are fishermen before we are jig salesman, that being said we drove 433 miles to legendary lake fork , you damn right we're gonna fish it!
Not knowing the lake, not having a boat, having never fished this lake . Where do I start ? That is the question I asked myself on Friday night at the motel.

Driving to caney point we crossed a small bridge, on the right in the cove were 3 boats and 2 bank fishermen. They are all there for a reason. Note to self, during crappiefest I had a local tell me crappie on fork liked the color silver, another bit of info.
After crappiefest we went to that little bridge and put the info to work. Silver jig for her, pink completely different color jig for me, shallow cove, let's see what happens .
Few cast in and I catch the first crappie on the pink jig then pot licker catches one on the silver jig

And then another one

We caught about a dozen before it got too dark so we left. I did notice there were these brown looking minnows swimming around they have a white dot on their head. Anyone know what kind they are? I noticed something was chasing a school of them . Tomorrow morning I will match the hatch.
I tied on a golden brown jig that resemble those minnows and boy did that color make the difference!

I guess color does matter when it matters! All fish caught using JIGLYF jigs and released to fight another day.

We would like to thank the people of east texas for their kind hospitality!
Shout out to mommas Cafe great breakfast!

I couldn't agree with you more Chuck! On both stances. Everyone I have met from the TFF has been a pleasure to deal with, good people!

As Dorthy from the wizard of oz said while clicking her heels " there's no place like home"
God blessed me with this job on this ranch , I intend to stay here until his plans for me change.

There are 3 versions of the micro 33. The black one has no bearings and no instant anti reverse, cheapest.
The blue slab commander has instant anti reverse and bushings, mid price. The gold has instant anti reverse and bearings., highest level. I replaced all the bushings in my slab commanders with ss bearings

Awesome report! Y’all be careful on those rocks! I was fishing on some rip-rap last week, and one big rock just went right out from under me! I had to get stitches in my thumb and in my elbow! Not to mention all the other bruises and abrasions I am dealing with…

I’ll be back at them in a week or so. I’ll probably stick to my kayak and jigging pole!

Glad you're OK split cane rod ! I agree those rocks are treacherous! Pot licker took a tumble on them. Bruised her elbow and palm of her hand. She's tuff though and kept right on fishing
