I have been diagnosed with a severe case of lumbar spinal stenosis in the l4-s1 just under my l4-l5 fusion. I do have 2 MRI's scheduled later this month, with a follow-up appointment with a surgeon. Has anyone else had treatments for your stenosis? My research has discovered many options with some of them being outpatient surgery.
Turning to the vast knowledge and resources of TFF members for their experience and suggestions.

I got nothing on that. I do have a deteriorating disk between my 3-4 lumbar that gets my siatic nerve.I work out to build up my lower back muscles and glutes. helps alot. Probably not much you can do with yours.

I don't know what this is, but it sounds like they are gonna weld your back together. I hope it works out well for you. Do not go to Baylor Plano.

Is that narrowing of the spine?

I have my L5-S1 fused from 2018 and it is fine today. My L5 was cracked sometime in my life and it regrew. They suspected a restriction of the spinal cord there causing sciatica symptoms. I had to go through rigorous physical therapy first to make sure it couldn't be helped without surgery. It is good today, no problems.
Stenosis is a narrowing of the disc gap between the vertebrae. Mostly an old age arthritis thing. Wear and tear. I would be skeptical of snake oils and potions to correct it. Cortisone shots are only temporary and actually deteriorate tissue over time.
I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV. So actually I don't know about your situation.

I have herniated discs L3, L4 and L5. I started going to the chiropractor once a week 15 years ago. I swear by the chiropractor as it has helped me tremendously. Unfortunately I don’t know if this would work for stenosis.

I had it as a result of a herniated disc. The stenosis was totally overshadowed by the sciatic nerve pain though. Doc had me dangling feet off the table with my feet parallel to the floor, and told me not to allow him to push my toes down. He could practically stand on my left foot, but my right he could push down with one finger. If left untreated, it can squeeze and choke off your nerve to the point where it dies. You can be left with no control of your foot, and can even lead to ding-a-ling problems.
Point is, this is something you want to get fixed. It will only get worse over time.

Unfortunately I don’t know if this would work for stenosis. I too am a believer in chiropractic care. They actually fixed a problem that I had spine surgery and a hip replacement for. I used to call them "quackopractors", but now a firm proponent.

I don't have lumbar stenosis but do have cervical stenosis in my neck. It flared up bad while on vacation in Puerto Rico over Christmas. My right arm was useless and pain like I've never experienced. I was ready to head into the rain forest to find some ol boy with a machete and ask him to just lop it off. "Concierge" doctor on the island gave me some prednisone and celebrex...neither did a thing for it. Got back home and my doc started with a bursa sac injection in my shoulder since symptoms could be from neck or shoulder and he wanted to start there even though neck CT identified the stenosis. That shot did very little and next step was a C7 steroid epidural and THANK YOU JESUS he hit the bullseye with that one! 85% relief in a couple days. Had some tingling down the arm for a couple weeks if I tilted my head to the right but that and all pain is now gone 2 months later. Time will tell how long it lasts...doc says could be a couple of months to forever. Hoping for the latter. Good luck with your situation.

My wife had/has stenosis and was not a candidate for surgery. She took two types of morphine two times a day for the pain she no longer knows she has that pain due to the Alzheimer’s. I hope you find a fix as I know the pain can be debilitating.
