there is a really neat place just south of Albany,Ga. near Doerun,Ga. The Owner of Tyson steel buildings has traveled, hunted and fished all over the world and brought back and mounted trophies animals from numerous contries...includes .almost every African plains game, mountain goats and sheep from north america and asian/mid east countries, fish from vatious oceans and freshwater fish ...'ll post a few more pics to give you an idea of what's there in case you are ever in this part of the country (it's free)...
the two pics above especially the one with my buddy standing beside the bear will give you an idea of how big brown and grizzly bears really are...pics for the wolves don't really show it but I would estimate their weight at over 100 lbs...

Hate seeing stuffed bears. Just too majestic to shoot imo.

I have a friend that hunts Africa almost every year and according to him, giraffe are one of the more challenging animals to hunt. Their height gives them a natural vantage point for seeing what's going on around them so it's nearly impossible to sneak up on one. Those pictures you see where the giraffe is just standing there beside the road are from areas where they are never hunted.

Just like any other animal control your breathing, place the cross hairs on the target, and squeeze the trigger knowing you provided meat, income, and survivability for a species and village. Giraffe’s look gentle and majestic but look up a Giraffe fight.

Looks like Don Corley's (may he RIP) trophy room I got to see many years ago. Never understood the desire for some of those animals, but to each his own. They are beautiful.

I have friends that went on hunt in Africa and shot zebra's, giraffe's etc. That's sad enough but what's worse is these BIG game hunters did ZERO hunting of these animals. They were driven to a spot handed a gun and said shoot. Pretty sad if you ask me.

Impressive...the old adage "Can't hide money" comes to mind. Imagine the millions spent in that room.

I use to work for an insurance company starting in 1987 to 2004 and Don Corley Sr and Jr were agents of ours. I talked to Don Jr about his father’s trophies mounts at Bass Pro Grapevine and he said I should see his whitetail and Mullie mounts at his house. I’m sad to see that they have both passed. I always enjoyed talking with Don Jr.

It’s an impressive collection for sure, I’m with a lot of others though, questionable practices I guess

I'm told that a lot of school groups plus adults visit this place every year so there is some value in giving kids and adults the opportunity to see animals they would never get to see otherwise...

we had a situation years ago where we used a company that had reindeers on a farm up in north Alabama...they would use reindeers and a sleiigh (with wheels) to bring santa claus to the mall...
we always made santa arrival at the mall a big deal and this one attracted hundreds of kids....the reindeer stayed around for several days and you could get you or your kids picture taken with a reindeer and sleigh....the year we did it,we had a woman come to my office all upset that we used reindeer that were kept in captivity....I told her that these reindeer were part of herd that was born into captivity since back in 1930's and they had a lot easier life than wild reindeer digging around in the snow trying to stay alive in the winter plus giving kids an opportunity to see something they wouldn't get to see otherwise....not sure i convinced the lady but made me feel better...

Some of yall are terribly mistaken. You have no idea how those hunts took place.

We hunted Tanzania it was basically the equivalent of public lands 490,000 acres with no fences no people no nothing..... that's like Galveston to Conroe with no roads no buildings. Just as wild Africa as you can get and you are on your own nearly 18 hours from the nearest anything.

Similar in Namibia....375,000 acres public lands similar to our national forest land.

All very very challenging.

And the Hartmans Zebra.....the mountain Zebra of Namibia.....was the most difficult game animal I have ever hunted. We hunted for 3 days before I had to shoot one at 500 plus yards because that was as close as we could get.

Now I agree there are plenty of high fence game ranches that hand you a menu.... you check off what you want.... they bring the animals in the back door and the hunter in the front door. Then drive around till you shoot off what you ordered. But no not all African plains game is like that. There are some very remote and challenging as real wild hunting as has ever existed on this planet. All things for all people but can't assume it was all gimmie hunts.... seek out the experience you want.
