Jose Altuve is hitting .391. The next seven "hitters" in the Houston batting order are hitting under .200. Alex Bregman's "replacement", Isaac Paredes, is hitting .150. What a shock considering he is a career .230 hitter with one of the lowest hard hit ball rates in the majors. Kyle Tucker's "replacement" is a rookie hitting something like a buck twenty-five. The new first baseman, 35 year old Christian Walker, is pounding the ball to the tune of a .125 average.

Dana Brown is a catastrophe as a GM. A sixth grader who watches baseball on TV could have seen this disaster coming.

Not looking very good after 6 games. Cam Smith looks like a total fail so fail and the torpedo bats are not going to help.

I predicted this back when Tucker was traded and it became obvious Bregman would walk. The idea that Paredes was going to make up for Bregman's production by barely scraping fly balls into the Crawford Boxes was a knee slapper from the get go.

The Cubs should have worn a mask and pointed a six shooter at Brown when they got Tucker for Paredes, a rookie infielder, and a mediocre relief pitcher that Houston management somehow thought was going to be a starter...because it was just plain robbery.

It’s about time Astros go south, they’ve had a good run for quite a few years. I hope they can turn it around.

Thanks, Billy

Yep. I just don't see the sticks in the line up that make me think they'll win the division or
even be in contention for the division. Pitching will be Ok but they'll wear down.

Apparently their moron GM thinks it's time for them to stop winning. He's doing everything he can to make sure that happens.

I hope Crane isn't starting to cheap out now. Although they do need to replenish the farm system.
Astros use to be loaded in the farm system it's pretty thin these day.

But just two weeks ago carmackj1 was busy goofing on me cuz I said the Astros wouldn't make the playoffs. He said they were the best team in the division...

Hope the Astros can get it turned around... NOT! Screw the trashtros. Last place for the next 15 years is your penance.

Since they gave Bregman away for a bag of Skittles the midget is the last one I think...

Can we stop with the "Jeremy Peña looks ready to have a big year" stuff? He got hot in the playoffs a few years ago. Other than that he has struck out a lot for a big guy with surprisingly little power.

One of my buddies who isn't a big Astros fan texted last night to say how awful the #2 hitter (Paredes) is. He said if the Horseshoe offers odds that he hits under .240 this year he's cashing out everything and putting it all on that one.

Unless the team ERA is under 3.00 this team is headed for a long, long year. I don't know why anyone would pitch to Altuve or Alvarez maybe Diaz if he gets hot. Pitch around them to get to the easy outs.
