I can honestly say I have never tried or even considered eating one... was going through some old pictures and found a video I made of an oyster bar where the oysters were spitting water in the air (filtering water) went looking on youtube and found another kind of oyster spitting.

I'm not going to say I'd rather slurp up a snotball, but add a little salt and a squeeze of lemon to the snot, and I'm going to have some real choices to make.

Grilled oysters are great. Drago's in New Orleans chargrilled oysters are the most addicting food I've ever eaten.

Grilled oysters are great. Drago's in New Orleans chargrilled oysters are the most addicting food I've ever eaten. Yes they are. I love raw also but don't eat them as much as I used to.

I love them raw, grilled, steamed, fried. One of my favorite ways is to lay them out on a hot grill over coals, as they start to get hot the shell will open, lift the top off and ladle some melted butter with fresh lime juice, chopped garlic and fresh cilantro into the oyster, let that cook a bit and then slurp em up, larapin good.
