Not looking good in the forecast. We live on the Little Red River and will be watching what happens over the next few days.

I was stuck in an atmospheric ocean before. Rivers??, meh !

Hurricane Harvey dropped over 60" of rain over 3 days on areas of the Southeast Texas Coastal plain. I was stuck working the hospital in Beaumont for 4.5 days which was cut off from all roadways for egress and ingress for days. ALL utilities were knocked out including water supplies. NG and Coast Guard helicopters would drop off supplies and evac patients. At one time there were 3 helicopters in the street behind the hospital, one on the parking garage landing pad, 2 in a parking lot half a block away.

All streams and waterways were over roads for days. I've never seen anything even remotely close to this in a rain event and I've lived within 100 miles of the Gulf coast for over 90% of my life.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

There were two 500 year floods within a few years of each other on the Red River recently.

The story says this storm will bring 4 month's worth of rain in the next 5 days. So that's like about 1 inch of rain over the course of the week. BFD.
