What would be the best way to pull up an old basketball goal post? It’s set in concrete, and cut off at the ground next to our driveway. I want to pull it out but not sure what’s the best way to get it done. I’m open to ideas.

Chain, tire/wheel and a truck will do it easily.

I had to dig one up one time. Was not fun. An excavator would have been nice.

You can rent a mini-excavator. Dig around it. Put a chain / strap around it. Lift up with the excavator. Fill hole with dirt.

We have one of those too right off the driveway, just the pole and they filled the damn thing with concrete. I made some straps out of gasket clamps and the Wife hangs flower pots from it.

Slow as you go with a hammer drill or rent a jack hammer.

Jack hammer would be the faster option. Once the concrete is busted up. It shouldn't be too difficult pulling it out.

Cheapest way, bust the concrete with a post hole digger. The huge heavy bar looking thing. What you use when busting up rock as installing a fence.

I’ve seen people do this to remove a tree stump, not a bad idea.

That's the name, "Sharpshooter". You'd think as much as Dad had me slinging one. I'd remember the name.
