Congrats... thumb

But does he know within a few years he's gonna have massive, crushing, life ending credit card debt, while living with mommy and daddy trying to sell his consignment boat for pennies on the dollar just to pay off the note???... OR at least that's the picture here on the TTF try to paint... Dan

You know, once we were young. Maybe instead of beeching about "olds" you should hope you leave this earth before you become one. What is the difference between not liking FFS or your constant bashing older people? Just my opinion on all you old haters.

I am not the one pops, please mess with someone who actually gives a flip.

We must remember there will be a time we will need the youngs to help do things like tying shoes or pulling your pants up. So, before you bump your gums you may think if you really want to have senior diaper rash because your pride, arrogance, entitlement and ego overran some common sense. We will all need the assistance of younger people at some point.

You have to think...

Doug, I have NO problem with kids doing what they love. I wish them well, It seems you are the one flapping your gums about old people on almost every post. You need to remember, just like I did, without older men there would be no younger ones. And just so you know I don't give a rippled rats azz one way or the other about FFS.

I have no problem with olds, as I am a junior old, lol.

But once again, you are not here to tell me what to do or think.

I appreciate and respect your opinion, but honestly do not need it.

For years tournament fishing has been dominated by the older fisherman. Bryan Kerchal was the exception. 18 to 25 year olds were not winning anything like they are today. Was it like a reverse FFS reason. The young guys couldn't figure out the old graphs or topo mapping system? Or was it the cost ? It really doesn't matter, young guns were not winning like today. Now the young guns are pretty much dominating fishing. Everything goes in cycles. Fishing will to. I'm almost 67 and have fished 1 time with FFS. It was a guide trip with Slewfoot for Crappie on LOP. It was a blast. I loved it. As far as watching fishing tournaments in today's world I still watch. I just love fishing. To the old guys complaining, either step your game up or shut up. To the young guys making jokes and laughing at the older fisherman complaining about FFS. Let it go, it makes you look like a little bitch. Years ago I worked for a company named Skyline Industries. One of there products was Skyline Graphite rods. They were the cream of the crop. I had over 40 of them. They were ahead of times. KVD had the Hydro Wave, no one cried. Some pros have lures that are not even on the market. Is using prototype lures wrong ? Let's be happy that the majority of these young guns are good guys. They are the future. It looks pretty bright to me.

I will have to disagree, and I am 70 years old. These kids have spent tremendous time on the water, most of them since their early teens, so many years. If FFS was not available, that same work ethic would have been directed to more traditional methods. I have no doubt the hard work and effort would have developed those skills as well.

We all forget the number of Century Belts and 25-30 lb bags that were before FFS. Why are the oldsters not doing that still?

You’re seriously underestimating their abilities

This article explains how he went about catching them sounds like he was pretty analytical about it. Pretty classy of him helping his co-angler out too.

Then why do they have to use FFS?

Better question is why are the olds so afraid of it?

Fish have to strike a lure at the end of the day- this isn’t hunting, spear fishing, etc. how about just saying congratulations and moving on…
