Neither of the two choices offered. We live in East Texas already and have 10 good lakes within a 40 mile radius of our house.

my parents retired and lived rest of their lives at El Camino bay on west side of Toledo Bend not far from Hemphill....weather was very similar to where I live in south Georgia...moderate and not many days you can't go fishing.....

Mountains….the ones in northern GA/east TN/west NC. Not the ones in the western US.

** the ozarks would do fine also.

I’m inland, gulf of America is 30 miles west, Atlantic beaches are 2 hrs east. It did hit freezing a few times this past winter, but it was also in the 70s or low 80s at least 75% of the time. The humidity in the summer can get oppressive but I prefer it to the frigid cold. When the wind hits 20 mph here it’s a big deal, I just laugh having dealt with the wind in Texas. Been through the hurricanes, twernt a big deal. We are quite happy here

I lived at the base of a mountain in Washington. I thought come time to retire, that is where I'd live. Steelhead and salmon in the rivers, great trout fishing all over the area, and some pretty good smallmouth fishing. But the steelhead and salmon runs are a thing of the past, real estate is out of sight, and population growth has led to massive traffic issues anywhere within a one hour drive of Seattle.
They also tax the [censored] out of gas, gun laws are restrictive.

So now I'm in Arkansas.

I can find some shade in the summer. Plus ...... you don't have to shovel heat!

I'm glad there are wine drinkers in this world ..... it saves more beer for the rest of us.

I`d have to go to the mountains also. AKA Gods country. I know that winter last a long time up there, but I'd have to give it a shot. My grandson moved his family there 4 years ago from Tyler and they love it. He`s moving from Del Norte to Estes Park next month. He said the only thing he didn`t like was the liberals.

What’s the best “mountain” range somewhat close to coastal South Carolina…..that’s where I’ll be.
