I bought a Fitbit after having heart surgery and after some time, I walk two miles most everyday.

Surgeon told me walking is the best exercise even when done at a leisurely pace.

I sit a lot. Need to get some exercise. It's been a while.

I try to get at least 10,000 steps a day or the equivalent of that. Walking, bike riding or on the elliptical. I hope I can maintain this, so I don't become sedentary. I think at the least I am adding life to my days. The smart phones have a good app for counting approximate steps.

I have heard this also from a Dr that did a minor procedure on my knee years ago.

I am trying to do the 10,000 a day. I just looked and my average for the last year is 8,161. Need to get out and walk on those rainy days. Also, I try to never set down unless I am driving or around 8PM in my recliner. My computer is on our bar in the kitchen and I stand when I use it.

Let me just say if anyone is still physically able to walk I hope they walk all they can while they can-

There are many folks out there that are no longer able to walk anymore for various reasons-

I mention this not to shame anyone, only to remind you that if you are still healthy enough to walk, I hope you are able too see what a gift you have already-

Once that ability is gone, no amount of money can buy it back-

cheers

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

Amen brother. I thank our Lord almighty every day for the blessings he has bestowed upon me. No matter how bad I think things are, it’s a very short trip to realize how blessed I am. You sir, are an inspiration to all.

I appreciate the kind words my friend-
I feel like its human nature to take our good fortunes for granted, did it myself for years-
I think most believe they are getting up everyday and navigating this life thing best they know how at the time-
I have landed into a life that is different than what is thought of as normal by most people-
Its a world that as messed up as I am physically there are many that envy the abilities I can still do-
There is always someone worse off -

Words and thoughts can be extremely powerful just the food you feed yourself-

Proper nourishment for the mind and soul can get a person though some tough situations-
