several years ago,I remember following a thread on this forum about a collection agency trying to collect money from a Texas fishing forum member who didn't owe them anything (a relative did as i recall )...an Atlanta collection agency was giving our forum member a totally uncalled for and unjustified hard time with phone calls at all hours threats of garnishment and lawsuits...
again my memory isn't real good but I believe our forum member came up with the idea of placing an ad for free fried chicken on Craigs list and listing the collection agencies phone number.. the collection agency went bonkers at all the calls..I believe several forum members also called to provoke the collection agency owner into screaming at them...collection agency got Craigs list to cancel the ad and our forum member placed another ad this time for free watermelons...the collection agency was in Atlanta so you can imagine the calls they got.....
anybody with better memory please add to this thread..

I happen to know a man who deserves similar treatment and have been toying with the idea of asking this forum to send him unhappy birthday wishes on April Fools day...probably will post something on April fools day....

LOL, I remember that and the first person I thought of starting it was you, beartrap. Wish I could remember who it really was. It was hilarious!

I remember when we spamed Frisco Online a few years ago, then we hit the PETA website. Good times.

I am sure you were in on it.

OT guy was getting harassed by some off shore scammer types. There was some link to Georgia. I think he took their number and put up an ad on Craigslist about free watermelons and asked people to call. The number was of course the scammers or bill collectors, whatever it was.

I called three times asking about the watermelons and got cussed out three times until they blocked the calls. I think they got 100's of calls ha ha.

Yes it got pulled after about three hours. I was doing Internal Audit at the time, I recall that, so it was 2015-16 I would guess?
