“Just find them and catch them” that proves how ignorant you are.
I swear some of you Pro-FFS guys are the biggest crybabies. Some of you really do seem to have the liberal mentality of “your opinion is only valid if you agree with me.” I stated it’s not easy. But knowledge of seasonal patterns is no longer necessary. That’s my point. I’m not calling for a ban. I just believe it’s not the best way to judge who is the “best” fisherman. It’s my opinion. It’s neither wrong nor right. You are free to disagree. I’m not gonna call someone names because they share a different opinion. Now to call out anglers fishing in a tournament using legal technology is 100% unfair. They would be stupid to handicap themselves if they feel a legal tool will help them. But it’s okay to disagree.

The best tournament anglers use whatever tools are available. They don’t select, choose, ridicule the young guys, bitch after the fact about the younger guys not “earning their way”, they just get the job done.
Agree 100%. It would be foolish to not use one, and I don’t get the bashing of those that use a legal tool that their competitors will be using. I just don’t believe being the best with FFS makes you the best angler. There is a significant portion of the audience that agrees, if not, the BPT would have never made a change. That doesn’t make anyone right or wrong, just a different opinion.

the fishery biologists have told us for years that the spawn produces far more fry/fingerlings than the lake can sustain....and..this must be true because lakes like guntersville are producing huge winning bags every weekend and this lake has had tremendous fishing pressure/tournament fatality for 50 years and more...same with almost every lake in the country and probably because of catch and release....going to be interesting what effect FFS has on the crappie population where fish are removed from the lake to be eaten...

I’m as conservative as you can get- so conservative I changed my party affiliation to independent as republicans are too liberal for me.

This is an excellent point- I see daily limits getting changed on crappie. Really they should have a tag limit for guides to keep them from over harvesting

I love all the electronics that the fishermen have available,...I would like the rules changed where they all could only use a coke bottle a kite string .

One thing is for sure, You can't stop technology. The younger people that grew up around technology embrace it and the old guys like Randy dispise it. It's a technological world we live in now and the same goes for fishing. I don't understand all the hate associated with it and if it began to deplete fish populations etc then wildlife management will change the laws. I'm an old man but I have livescope on my boat and I'll tell ya those videos online make it look easy but it's not. The way some people think is, you put livescope on and fish just jump in the boat...lol

I wouldn’t characterize the reaction as an uproar…..rather….voices of concern.
Bass fishing used to be relatable….even on the professional level. It isn’t anymore. Over time, it has become more and more exclusive; even more of a niche sport. For the vast majority of anglers, fishing is standing on a bank/pier or wading a river casting into the unknown…..and that is the magic of fishing….what differentiates it from other activities…you don’t see your target in real time. Watching a professional angler placing his or her lure into a precise location determined by what he or she sees under water via a screen in real time…and then tracks the lure and the targeted fish in real time is completely foreign to the experience of 99% of anglers.
When we watch baseball/football/basketball/bowling/etc the competitors are doing the same things we have all done…but at the highest levels of skill and ability. Professional bass fishing no longer shares that experience with 99% of the viewers…it is something completely different from the typical familiarity of fishing.

I get the point you’re trying to make but you’re still comparing apples to oranges. You can’t sight fish bedding fish year round. It’s a small window. And Hackney got beat by 42lbs.

I know nothing about FFS but I will say this.... My day two pro, that's all he relied on. He told me what his plan was for the day and all I could do was say, let's go.. He started at the tower at the dam on Roberts, worked towards the state park and back. He managed 1 drum, 1 - 12" bass and 1 - 3 pound 8 ounce bass. Then we left ran to a couple of other community holes and back to the dam to continue scoping, needless to say, Saturday, I had a few naps while on the dam. Did I have a good experience, absolutely... My Day 1 pro Jeremy Kneep was an absolute great guy.
