Does anyone recognize this weight and can tell me where I can get some more by chance? I can't remember where I got them from but pretty sure ordered from someone here on the forum.

Use your imagination and you will like that application. I put one similar to that past my barb wacky rig, i use a really small prob 1/32 drop shot weight then hook my worm. Works most excellent.

Be happy to show how I use them.
I just modified a regular drop shot weight this evening and achieved the same result.

Is it a free rig?

It allows you to fish with a lighter weight hook and still let the fluke sink a faster when wanted. It still sinks pretty muvh straight down, since the small weight is on the hook shank, and keep a lot of action.
I rig it like this when working pockets in catttails and such.
The pic is with a heavier hook since that was what I already had tied on when I didn’t have one of the weights handy on Sunday.

I think I may be the guy that showed that to you. I lost the biggest fish I ever hooked at CB on that rig with a Mag Fluke about 4 mos after I caught the 15.

What about this do you like more than a nail weight?

Lake Fork Guide Marc Mitchell showed me that rig once. I haven't used it in a long time but I don't throw a Fluke very often

How it allows the fluke to sink as opposed to the head down motion. I use the nail weight sometimes as well, just a different presentation that works for me

I use that caffeine shad when I want a faster sink.
But I do like this. I can't fluke with heavy wire hooks

You can also achieve this same result without adding too much bulk with lead wire wrapped around the hook.

Only downside, is it's tougher on your baits and not as flexible as the weight above.
