I’m not much of a reader but recent discussions on X about book reading combined with tv and movies being absolute dog scat the past few years has me thinking about cracking open a book.

What’s your favorite?

my aunt gave me Kon Tiki when i was about 10 years old....Thor Heyerdahl wrote about a group of explorers who built a raft and let the ocean currents and wind carry them from south america to Polynesian islands...back then we didn't have TV or video games so I must have read that book and Tom Sawyer several times...probably inspired me to travel down rivers in a jon boat...

I’m not a reader either, I’ve probably read 5 novels cover to cover in my life. The one I remember the most is Jaws, I thought it was a good book

State of Fear - Crighton - It would make a great movie like the rest of his books.

Not Between Brothers - Wilkinson - Great Texas historical novel

Novels, anything by Hemingway.

I read a lot as I dislike what is on TV.

I mainly read non-fiction, J.Frank Dobie has some interesting books.

Basically anything on Texas, especially Texas Indians .

Chesapeake by James Michener, read it in 1980 and will finish rereading it this week. Best writer, hands down Peter Hathaway Capstick.

With the Old Breed
Leon Uris' "Redemption"
Tom Wolfe's "A Man in Full"

I gravitate toward non fiction, history and biographies. Novels can be great, just not my first choice.

"..The pleasantist angling is to see the fish
Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

I’ve only read two books in my life. Where The Red Fern Grows and Howard Sterns Private Parts. Lol.
