on certain speeds squeals. on 7, 8 , 9. Way too loud.
any ideas?

Try a different prop

Sounds like you may have bent the prop shaft

Prop will break long before the shaft gets bent

Well I bent mine without breaking the prop.

How did you bend a composite shaft?

Remove prop and see if anything is rubbing. There is a ring on The outer edge of the round section of the prop that can delaminate on the 112lb models. Take the prop off, and then turn it on and see if you hear the noise. If it's still there, you may self deploy the motor when it's on the trailer. When you do this, turn it on and see if the shaft is true.

He’s talkin about bending the armature. Not the shaft. The prop mounts to the armature.

It’s probably the armature bearings. They are not the easiest thing to replace. Might as well buy a new nose cone, with the bearings in it, new brushes, brush plate, and bolts/hardware/o-ring seals. It costs around $100 or so for the parts.

You might try loosening the two bolts that hold the motor together and slightly twist the skeg end while it’s running. Sometimes the slightly misaligned brush plates can cause noises. Twisting the skeg end while running the motor presses/spreads the brushes and the gap between the armature and magnets….sometimes it fixes the noise and buys more time before it needs to be rebuilt.

Take the prop off. Rotate 180 and put back on. Wouldn't be the first time a problem solved with no $$.

My misunderstanding, but trust me, I know what an armature is, especially a Minn Kota armature.

Let us know what works, I just busted my prop on a stump on Lake Fork and now I am getting squealing too after I put on a spare one that I had..
