I bought the Kraken about a year and a half ago. It is a beast. I like the set up way better than the Lowrance/Motorguide I had.

I have a Force ... had it for 3 years now. Used it as a 24V on my duck boat .. now it's set up for 36V on my Ranger. I love it and it's hard to beat Garmin customer service when you need it.

Being able to link your T/M with your graph is a great advantage for getting back on a specific location when using down/side imaging.

Really like my Force EXCEPT the spotlock. The new "Pro" version is said to have fixed that. Garmin's support is still fantastic.

What's wrong with the FORCE spot lock?

What's wrong with the FORCE spot lock? Very common issue is that it wanders a lot, sometimes backs up a lot when initially hit. Unless you have a very stiff wind, it's never happy. I've done all the softwares, tried double-tapping it, etc and it just isn't the best when you are trying to hold to a tight spot. If you are in open water and it can wander a few feet each way, it's fine. The Kraken and Force Pro have better performing spot lock with the additional GPS sensor.

I am looking at replacing my Terova for the above mentioned complaints about spotlock . The spotlock is undependable a good bit of the time and I’d rather not even use it. Can anyone suggest the best trolling motor choice for spot lock/anchor? Also, I would like to find one that will stay put under bridges. If that exists.

Spot lock under bridges will be a challenge for any trolling motor. Spot lock uses the signal form Global Positioning Satellites and bridges interfere with the signal from GPS to the GPS receiver in the trolling motor.

I agree but when mine goes haywire under a bridge and I ask other anglers next to me how theirs’ does they say, just fine. Mine is a terrova and it has never been anything special either in open water, with or without wind etc. Before I sink a bunch of money in a new one, I’m asking folks which one do they have and how does it do.

With today's technology, they are all pretty good now. All are brushless, Minnkota has the cables and the rest are fly by wire. Garmin has had their issues, but they all have. Give me a call if I can assist.
