Devastated is an understatement as this was unexpected and absolutely no warning. I am clinging to the thought that God had a better plan for him. My family and I are having a really hard time with this. He introduced me to fishing when I was 3 years old on lake Amistad and we have been fishing together for the last 40 years. I love you Dad, I am not ready to live life without you!

Looks like he was a hell of a fisherman. Sorry for your loss. Looks like you`ve still got some great memories.

Minner Bucket I am truly sorry for your family's loss. As we all hope our death is quick and painless, I hope your father's death was also. Unfortunately as we get older this happens to often. The strength of God and family and close friends will help. But the loss of a parent is a painful one. I buried my little brother at age 22, parents and grandparents in their 70's. I kind of have a saying I live with. As long as they are in our heart and souls, they are only gone physically. Trust in God to help you through this brought time. Prayers going out.

I still remember netting his PB largemouth, 11lb 7oz while fishing a tournament on Amistad, I think I was 10 or 12 years old.
