His comeback at 40yo never sitting down in the corner between rounds until he won the World Championship belt is freakin’ legendary. One of the greatest accomplishments in all of sports history. A superhuman accomplishment that I still wouldn’t believe happened if I didn’t see it.
Highest respect for redirecting his life to Jesus and doing good works.
Also, naming all of your sons George is a boss move.

There is a local journeyman boxer named Bobby Crabtree that lives about 10 minutes from me. He made a pretty good name for himself back in the day taking fights with anyone on a minutes notice. He owned.a body shop here and they would call him if someone dropped out of a fight and he would hop on a plane with hardly any time to train for the fight. Anyway, to make a long story short, he wound up getting a call to fight George Foreman one night. Foreman won the fight but later on praised Crabtree for his punching power. I think it was on David Letterman or one of the other shows that Foreman was asked which of his opponents could hit the hardest and he said the hardest puncher he ever faced was a guy called the Fighting Hillbilly from Arkansas. People still ask Crabtree about that fight and he said he landed some good shots on Foreman. When we asked what happened next he said “Foreman got real mad and beat me pretty good.”

RIP. I think he said he was getting 4 and 5 million dollar checks monthly off of his cooker. I think he said over 100 million of them had been sold. He told the story about it. Pretty interesting and seemed like a good guy

There is a show on Netflix all about him that is actually really good.
