The thread about Discount tire got me to thinking, Do you buy the Road hazard on your new tires? I have collected many times on it from DT. The debris in the road here in the Permian Basin is Horrendous. The sand hauler and frac trucks will have a blow out and scatter tire debris for a quarter of a mile. I have stopped and moved some of the rubber out of the road and have seen DPS Troopers doing the same. Tex Dot cannot keep up. I saw a guy hit a piece of angle Iron and it took the inner sidewall out of the 2 front tires. I always buy the Road hazard on new tires.

Normally I wouldn't buy it but my wife is a tire destroying beast. Just put new tires on her Mustang last year. Not 6k miles since and they have already had to replace two from [censored] she's run over. Each time its been on the outside edge of the tread where they can't patch it. On her previous set I know they replaced at least one. On the original tires that came on the car she trashed two. So in a little over 70k miles she's had to have 5 tires replaced. I think I got my moneys worth.

Nope. I`m on my 4th set of tires on my `03 Dodge 2500 and only had one a flat in 21 plus years. I`ll self-insure my tires and roll the dice.

I normally do but didn’t on my current set. Was already at over $2k on the set and decided to take the chance.

If I buy road hazard, I'll never use it. If I don't, then I'll wish I had it!

I buy road hazard for my truck and boat trailer tires. Every few months the trailer picks up a screw somewhere and I’ve had two replacements in a year. For me it is a worthwhile expense.

No on the warranty. I buy the cheapest tires from Walmart and replace them after 5-6 months. I drive close to 100,000 miles a year here in DFW and so far its working for me

Sounds like our wives are twin sisters.

It's a must if you live on gravel country roads. Every time they grate, there is a high chance of picking up and old fence staple and it seems they always end up on the edge of the tire. My wife will pull way too far over when meeting someone on our road. I told her to just stop and let them pass and to stop rolling in the debri field. We went walking one day after they grated and I showed her that yes, there are still old staples even though no one has had wooden fence posts on this 3/4 mile stretch of road in over 30 years.

Driving around the Permian is like navigating mine fields for sure. They drive the trucks until they break, and leave whatever carnage to the fools trying to follow them. Since most of them are working 80 hour weeks, add that to the equation and you've got chaos for sure. Like this idiot on 385 North of Pecos, his dang truck is on FIRE....and not interested one bit in pulling over until he got to his yard. 400 barrel bomb. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/6sNtn7G/flaming-truck.jpg)

I get it. I've used it once on my truck, once on my boat trailer and twice on my wife's car.
