This is sort of a religious question, but not quite "Bunker" worthy.

The book in the photo is called "The Book Nobody Knows," published in 1926.

It was on the shelf in a coffee shop I visit in Farmersville, Texas, and it's more decoration than anything.

A few weeks back I was sitting in there, got up, looked at the shelf and grabbed the book.
It was covered in dust, just like all the others on that shelf.
They are more decoration than anything.

The books is about a man who discovered the Bible, and he is having a spiritual awakening.

* I took the book.

Question: Is it wrong to steal/take a book that is NOT being used, especially if the content is religious, akin to stealing a "Bible"?

Addendum: Blessings to us all, especially me since I stole a book and admit it. +++

...???

If its not yours don't take it. Doesn't matter if its being used or not.

If it belonged to another and you took it without asking, it’s wrong. Go make it right.

"..The pleasantist angling is to see the fish
Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

Pretty [censored], why not just ask to borrow it? Or here's a wild thought go to the library and check it out, I'm sure they printed more than one copy.

Maybe it was dusty cause their mother passed with that book in her hands the last thing she ever touched...

It's dusty because the books on the tall shelf attached to the wall are decorative, and allllllllll the times I've been there, NOBODY touches those books.

Clearly, I can read it, then return it, but I know after reading the first 20 pages I want it.

Plus +, there is an inscription in the book written to Lillian G., who might actually be the famous silent actress from the 20s, Lillian Gish.

I will read it, then consider returning it.

...orrrrrrrrrrrr, I might just ask Marty, the owner," if I can keep it.
He owes me!

...!
