Just returned last weekend after a week there. Had good days a few great days even with the wind.
Flukes in watermelon red worked great on a crappie hook and slow fall retrieve, some luck on black / blue jig 1/8 oz. Fished mostly in Jackson arm area and Turtle Shell, did make a run towards Tuckers one day and it was not ba over in that area.

Good luck and enjoy the scenery, we stayed on Taylor island and fished mostly in that area.

I was up there for the first time the first week of March. It’s a beautiful lake out there. Unfortunately, I hit it at a bad time and the fishing was very tough. Water was murky and cold. Caught a like 4-5 the whole time. Regardless, it was absolutely worth the trip. I just loved being up there.

Lake is very easy to navigate. Whoever marked that lake did a very good job at it. You can run the whole lake wherever you want to go without any issues. Just stay in the boat lanes and you’ll be good to go. Outside of the lanes, idle. Make sure to make the run up the Government Ditch.

As far as fishing, can’t help much. All the locals said to throw at the base of cypress trees, and the shallower the better. I caught most of mine around Tar Island.

I stayed in Uncertain. It’s definitely a little bit “run down” and I was a tiny bit worried the first night, but I didn’t have any issues personally. I kinda realized it was more of a hillbilly coonass type of a run down and not a downtown Chicago crackhead type of run down. Everybody up there was really nice. I wouldn’t worry about it, but I’d also keep your valuables inside just for peace of mind
