Good luck to you sir. My dad had one. My brother and I have inherited the family heart issues. It sucks. I'm finally moving in the right direction for now I hope. My brother just had a bypass and is recovering from that now. It just seems like it never stops. Always something cropping up. It's still better than the alternative though. Again, I wish you all the best.

I had one before transplant. It was the pacemaker+defibrillator kind. After the implanting procedure healing is done, you get really used to it and it really doesn't bother you at all. Until you get shocked

I have had the pacemaker+defibrillator for a couple of years now. Like some have said, it will make a big difference in how you feel. You really do not even know it is there. I did have mine make an audible alarm a couple of weeks ago when I had put something with a magnetic type motor too close to it. Other than that, knock on wood, no trouble at all with it.

Got mine in 2016, pacemaker/defibrillator. Due for battery in next 12 months
Never a problem except they have to turn it off for MRIs and it can only be turned off at a hospital.
