Hey guys, I am not looking for anyone to share their super secret spot or anything just some general tips on Texoma. I am taking my son next weekend for a father and son camping, and fishing trip to Eisenhower S.P. I will be hauling our boat with us too, can anyone share some insight on where to hunt for some crappie on this lake? I know they should be in pre-spawn to spawning mode depending on the weather next weekend (so looking in 10-12 ft or shallower). Thank you in advance for any and all tips on this big ol lake.

Fish the poles around the docks almost like the are timber. Start at 2ft down and work your way lower. Texoma has a ton of big white crappie. I always did really well with a large pumpkin/chart sold plastic. Get back in any of the arms and you can find lots of brush all over the place.

I have not fished Texoma for crappie in years, so take that in consideration. But I know that on the Oklahoma side , you can catch spawning crappie
On the rip rap of bridges in the back of creeks.

good luck

They likely won’t be spawning yet. Big lake, takes a long time to warm up. Big white crappie on the west end, black crappie more on the east end. Head west and try fishing in some marinas and coves. Id try to fish the west end.

Im with you on this one. I like out west and it spawns as late as any lake I have fished in Texas.

It’s further north than most and it’s massive compared to the dallas area lakes. I’ve caught spawners in to the first week of June on that lake before, and my best fishing was almost always mid April-mid may up shallow

I’ve heard there are numerous brush piles around Walnut Creek on the big mineral arm.

And don’t forget to get your lake Texoma license. If your son is 16 he will need it if you venture into Okieland part of the lake.

Huge one on the little island/point as you come into Walnut Creek. It's on the north side of it towards the east. But lots of them in there.

This is all great advice but being that you were staying at the state park you should check grandpappy Marina it has a good crappie population and is a lot closer to you

I’ve been catching some shallow and some respawn still staged. I’d try fishing the rip rap by the dam since you’ll be on that side of the lake.
