The southern New Mexico climate is optimal for space launches. Red Bull launched their space balloons from Rosewell. The State of New Mexico build Spaceport America just north of Las Cruces. If Red Bull knows this, the aliens do too.

I vote aliens....an advanced race that manipulated a primitive bipedal creature's DNA and created homo sapiens. And they started the whole adam and eve thing and the jesus thing...
