I'm thinking this is too high. What say you?

Going rate for 6’ pre-stained is about $60 a foot so that price is the going rate if it’s pre-stained. It’s about $55 a foot not pre-stained which would be the going rate. I just asked my neighbor who does fences. Sounds like you may be getting a couple hundred off the going rate by his price.

When putting up new fence, good idea to get a lot stake done first

Why did you have the ugly side facing inside your yard? Corner lot?

Harder for the crooks to climb your fence. Also some cities require it.

The only difference between a little girls scream and a warrior's battle cry is the direction your'e running!

^^^^This. I replaced my fence last year with pre-stained cedar and metal posts. $60 per square. Not cheap but looks great.

East side of my fence is 8' tall. A few years ago had some heavy rain followed by strong west winds. Ended up with 14 poles leaning outward. During covid we called a few fence companies and none wanted to do the work, too small of a job as they were getting rich off covid money. Got tired of the wife nagging about it and just got some estimates. $225 a pole to pull them and install new ones deeper. I think a few aren't even cemented in, new home construction shortcut I'm sure.

After all the wind damage around my area over the last couple weeks….the a hole that does code enforcement for my city wrote me a warning for having one missing picket and one broken picket. roflmao

Jokes on them…..I’m gonna do a half assed job to “meet compliance” and it’s gonna be ugly. roflmao [Linked Image]

We've gone back and forth. $220 to build a fence is stupid.

yes it is
did some city person just happen to drive by?

Yes. He's new and on a tear.

Sounds like the goober in my city. He must live on my street. Haha.

I’m on a corner, less than a block from the FD, PD, and city offices. Haha.

Yes.

I have a 16' double gate. When I rebuilt it I used these adjustable gate braces. I will not build another gate without them. [Linked Image]

Yes, this is a pre-stained quote.
