Steering is fine as far as boat maneuvarabilty, but there is about a 1/4 inch of vertical slack (12 to 6) in the column itself. Anyone know hw to tighten this up? 2009 Skeeter I Class. Any info appreciated.

Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.

Caused by wear of the steering wheel tilt mechanism/latch. You'll have to research your type steering system for correct part & replacement procedure.

Yep. I replaced the tilt helm on my skeeter a couple years ago. Unfortunately, the entire helm had to be purchased to fix the stripped gear tooth issue.
