I recently had occasion to try the dish detergent and water mixture; it worked as advertised. It kills them quickly and they can't fly when it gets on their wings. The source didn't stipulate a specific ratio of detergent to water and I couldn't say exactly what ratio I used; I just added detergent until it "felt right" and it worked. Anybody know what the proper ratio is supposed to be? I've been touting the water/dish soap here for a while. Drops 'em like the expensive aerosol commercial spray. Drawback is you have to get closer for a more accurate kill. I have no ratios but maybe just a bit more concentrated than for really greasy dishes. Let's say in a regular Red Solo glass 2/3 full I'd like it 10:1 but I'm sure 20:1 would kill fast too. I think it cuts off their ability to "breathe" .
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

They absolutely work…unfortunately they also will get your little green lizards which are beneficial.
