Concepts of individual freedom, right to the pursuit of happiness and all that are concepts that "don't mean anything"?

"I couldn’t care less that a camera knows I went to the grocery store. It’s not intrusive."
I 100% guarantee your travel, tendencies and whereabouts are being sold to data brokers. X likes to eat at Jack in the Box, shop at Krogers and tows a boat with a Kenmore motor on it. Oh, looks like his daughter's car is about to have expired insurance.
It's intrusive as hell and your data from the brand of clothes you wear to the prescriptions you take to how many breaths of air you breathe in a day are being sold to anyone who will pay money for that information. Your personal data is the most sought after and valuable commodity on the planet right now. Google/Apple already have their data anal probe inserted into that little hand held super computer in our pocket, that we can't live with out.

Organizations using the Flock system can pay extra to have data held longer. I saw one that was paying to have logs held for 3 months. I would bet that when your vehicle is identified by the Flock system, the profile is permanent.
Would you be willing to have a chip installed in your body that monitors your movements, health, and other, for the benefit of crime reduction, and your "general well-being?" It's a slippery slope.

Flock is just one example of the many AI-powered surveillance and military ventures funded by Peter Thiel. He’s invested in a range of technologies that fit into his broader vision of a future driven by AI-powered security systems and military applications. These systems are part of the command-and-control infrastructure that could enable his vision of a stateless society. Unfortunately, we're already on the slippery slope—though most people don’t feel the impact yet, and many are unknowingly supporting it.

mixed feelings....I like privacy but we've got a crime problem in my town...it is scary how many men have police records in my town and most major cities....the police need all the help they can get to make our streets/neighborhoods safer...almost every home has a camera/alarm system now....

My twins had one of their best buddies (14) ran over by a car in December. He was actually hit by 2 cars and one didn't stop. I feel like it's more for this than tracking your every move for some evil invasion of privacy type stuff. But who knows. Im all for anything that makes crime lower in my area within reason.

If it tracks license plates I can support that.
I’m more likely to have my truck stolen, than I am to steal a truck.
It would be great if it’s recovered, in good condition.

Not really a fan. Too much of a slippery slope.

Not a fan either, but I don’t ever plan on being wanted by the law.

I've had 1 installed a 100 yrds
from my house at a 4 way stop. I live in the middle of nowhere. 1 installed at the boat ramp by my house. Both in Franklin County. I have stopped and took a whizz in front of both. Will see what happens.

It's a bad/evil idea/technology. Anyone for this is just not thinking.
Would y'all want to live in China with this ever invasive system tracking you day and night.....with no escape?
"1984" was scary, but, not as scary as our reality of today.
I am so lucky to be so old. I pity those 30 and younger. a777, honest question here. If your wife, daughter or granddaughter was murdered wouldn’t you want to leverage every available technology to find the killer?

I’m not a fan of this type of surveillance. I get that it can be helpful in certain circumstances, but it also feels like there is the potential for unintended consequences down the road. The video even mentioned a couple incidents that have already occurred.
It would be nice to solve every crime, but the price of constant surveillance is more than too high. It’s no one’s business when I go out, where I go or how I get there. For that matter, I turn off all location services on my phone.
The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.

Like many things today, this technology provides a great deal of safety, crime deterrence, and evidence to convict criminals. It also has a very high potential for abuse; it can be used to intrude on honest citizens' rights and to compromise political opponents. In other words, it's great and it's horrible. There are many sources of such information that most of us don't realize, and yet we allow the wrong people unfettered access to it based on political preferences. Until we can reform our system of government to eliminate the widespread corruption we currently suffer, all of technology has the potential to be used against us. But as long as Americans continue to blindly support everything one side of the political aisle does and blindly oppose everything the opposite side of the aisle does (in other words, eagerly allow a group of career powerbrokers, criminals, and control freaks to tell us what to believe and what to say), we'll never eliminate corruption or abuse of power.
