These were my grandfathers he had them all redone a few years ago. I will never fished them. I was just wondering if they're worth anything or should I just trash them?

I wouldn’t trash them. There used to be someone on here who did take kids fishing type things and was always accepting of people donating rods / reels / tackle / and stuff.

Even if there is no monetary value they are worth gold in memories. I could never ever discard something my grandfather owned. I'll be a hoarder before that.

I keep my first Garcia Bait casting reel and spinning reel in my office as momentos. They reside on one of my filing cabinets. My Dad bought me both of those.

I have several of those old Abu Garcia's, even some of the older 5500's, I keep them for extra stuff if I need a very slow gear ratio reel

The XLT should be worth about 35.00, not sure about the other. That old Garcia is still a great reel.

Yeah I am pretty much a minimalist. If I haven't used something in a calendar year it usually gets sold or thrown out. Good idea about giving them away.

Not a ton of value, but I'd like a chance to buy them rather that have you throw them away....

Depends on you and how you fish.

I used the XLT's years ago. Pretty decent reels.

If they work, use them.

I ain't sentimental. Don't keep grandpa stuff. Not enough room in the house for Daddy stuff.

Use them or find a place to donate.
