I would expect used V8 Tundras and V6 Tacomas and 4Runners are doing well as people wait for Toyota to right the ship. This isn’t Hyundai/Kia level of a disaster, but they have built their reputation on solid, reliable vehicles and they are taking a hit recently. I’m interested in a new Landcruiser in the future, but will wait until the problems are solved.

We took a 24 Platinum in on trade last month. The drivers seats feel like leather trimmed cardboard to me. But, their tech has come a long ways.

It will look like total hell bt then but will still be running fine. Hell i might drive this one to 300k.

I have a 24 model bought in July. Got 10 k miles on it. No problems. Pulled boat all over these hills. Love it. I took it straight to my tire shop and he gave me $600 trade in on one size bigger tire. I put an all terrain , cost me another $600 bucks but them tissue paper tires wasn't going to make it in these rocks during deer season and would have wind up spending more money after ruining a tire.

I have a 2024 SR5 black out edition and I love it, got it in June and have 20k miles on it, I drive a lot. I get 17 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway. It pulls my boat like it’s not even back there and the boat doesn’t affect my mileage.

The Toyota dealer I bought my 2021 from (Mt. Peasant) has been trying to get me to trade in my 5.7 truck and buy a new 2025. They do not offer the 5.7 V8 (or and V8 for that matter) anymore. The service manager knows I tow a boat and told me to keep my '21 with the 5.7. He said (kind of under his breath) none of the new motors are as good for towing than the 5.7 I currently have.

Just never been a fan of them old or new. The new one's look like the tacoma's not full size trucks. I don't enjoy driving a truck and having my passengers shoulder rubbing mine.

Well I can tell you right now that the new Tundra engine pulls better than the 5.7 and that is not a secret at all, whatsoever. Longevity is our concern....

A g9od friend of mine has a 2024. Been in it a bunch. He has had no complaints. He pulls a boat often with it. I likei it so much that it will be considered here in a few months when I buy a new one. It's hard to get away from the asilverado Trail Boss as the ones I have had have been awesome but the new Tundra will get a long look.

IMHO, I don't know why anybody would buy one of the new ones. The main reason you buy Toyota is for reliability and resale, and the new ones won't have either with that engine reputation.
I have a first Gen Tundra --- lots of issues , front end suspension , brakes , starter . Not what I expected for a Toyota . The waste gate issue caused me to steer clear . I went with a 2023 RAM --- mainly because the motor and tranny have been in production for a long time .

The last two generations of Tacomas had issues the first model year that were corrected in subsequent years and any first year owners were covered under warranty. Same will happen with the Tundras, I’d imagine.
It’s disappointing that Toyota has had issues with first-year models on each truck. Seems like that kind of thing didn’t happen in the past. I think it’s the first 3 years on the new Tundras- does anyone really know if the the problem is fixed? They claim it was machining debris, seems to always get the front main bearing, it may be a design issue… I was just going by what I inferred in this thread. I don’t know much about Tundras

When i heard of the waste gate failures ---first thing I thought was how fast are the spinning the " blowers " ? Then , how reliable can they be long term . I would bet a ton of money --- that the total cost of fixing these out of warranty are gonna be crazy high

The ram has a whole host of their own problems, and the domestic manufacturers never attempt to fix , these just get you good until the warranty is up. What Toyota is doing to remedy this is much better than the big 3 would.

When that thing craps out, it'll total the truck. just one more example of EPA directed nonsense over MPG
