Has anyone found any traps that really work for the red wasps. First 80 degree day and they are already out. Most traps work on yellow jackets and daubers but my main problem are the red wasps. I spray the eaves, corners and soffits with Bigen XTS, pstrol for nests every day and knock them down quickly, and I probably kill 200+ each Spring and Summer with hornet spray and a fly swatter but they are by no means under control.

If you have fire ants. Kill the mounds off. They like eating them. It might help reduce them

No idea on traps. But for stings get some “Prid” drawing salve. BEFORE you or the wife/kids get popped. Little orange tin. Most drug stores carry it. Best thing I’ve found to reduce pain, swelling and duration of misery caused by stings. Beats tobacco and baking soda or any other home remedies.

Meat tenderizer in a little water to make a paste is the best I’ve ever used.

That’s my go-to for Chiggers, JCBYEN. Just make sure it’s unseasoned tenderizer.👍🏻

spray them at night when they are all at home. spraying in the daytime when they are out and about is a waste of time.

they keep the predator insects off your plants.

Somebody on here couple of years ago recommended dish soap and water. That’s what I’ve been using ever since and it kills them superfast.

they keep the predator insects off your plants. I follow the same, but when they build their nests under my septic pump lid, trash can lids, etc. They need to be moved.

If you’ve got the little devils, get your wasp spray at a wholesale electric supply. The stuff there must have some manner of glue or wax in it. Cause when you spray them they lock up instantly. It’s impressive.
And it shoots a stream of death a long way.

I recently had occasion to try the dish detergent and water mixture; it worked as advertised. It kills them quickly and they can't fly when it gets on their wings. The source didn't stipulate a specific ratio of detergent to water and I couldn't say exactly what ratio I used; I just added detergent until it "felt right" and it worked. Anybody know what the proper ratio is supposed to be?
