Georgia has a bill in legislature to outlaw school zone cameras and it is favored to pass.....almost every town in Georgia has school zone cameras and they are a huge source of revenue for the town and the camera company (town usually gets 55-65% and camera company gets 35-45%).....one of the big complaints is that they leave these cameras on 24/7 and if you exceed the street or road posted speed limit by more than 10 mph,you get a ticket ....one of the more common complaints is that kids don't walk to school anymore and most schools are built back from the street or highway and kids not exposed to traffic..there is one in my town on a busy street but school is located two streets away and kids are not exposed to traffic on the busy street.. Georgia is one of 21 states that still allow red light cameras but not many cities have them due to complaints from citizens...the camera companies in some instances were shortening the time between red and green to generate more tickets and revenue .....this created enough complaints that most cities got rid of them....

None that I am aware of. We had red light cameras for a period, but Governor Abbot pushed for and got those legislated out. I think the legal argument was that cameras don't allow a defendant to face his accuser in court.
We do have school bus cameras though. Little irony there if you choose to see it.

I fought it by phone, sent in proof and copy of my passport stamp of entry and exit of USA, Only way to fight it was to drive to Dallas after the court kept rejecting my proof. Ticket was like $45 and not worth my time to drive to Dallas Court. Just another scam in my opinion.

I thought they were going to address paper plates.
I see them everywhere now, mostly on older cars, probably illegal.

No speed cameras in Texas. Don't think they were ever a thing. I believe our LEO have to be present to ticket you, and then they have to be present if you choose to fight it. Red light cameras made intersections more dangerous. I was proven in multiple tests.

Creating a police state isn't a viable answer in a free nation. We're never going to eliminate every crime and all risk. Personally I don't want to try.

..the camera companies in some instances were shortening the time between red and green to generate more tickets and revenue .....this created enough complaints that most cities got rid of them.... Not only did they change the time the light was yellow to increase red light running, they also removed the crosswalk lights with the count down so you could not see how long before the light would change.
