need to change mine, it's elongated type. Are they pretty much all the same or is their an all star brand out there

Plastic or pressed wood, get plastic. Depending on your toilet brand you can get a seat that perfectly matches the contour of the toilet. Some have plastic studs or stainless, it’s like anything you can go cheap or expensive.

Does anyone make a terlet seat that doesn’t slide off-center? If it's sliding off center, it's most likely not installed correctly, or one of the bolts is stripped allowing the nut to loosen.

to paint a picture there is a hole in the porcelain. In that hole is a plastic thing of some sort nut that flairs out at the bottom. The bolt is in the plastic but I cannot pull it out. In the other one, the bolt smoothly came out then the plastic thing fell in the hole
anything you go is appreciated

Pull up on the seat very forcefully while turning the stripped out nut.

If the plastic one is thin and you are a big ole boy you can crack the seat and pinch yourself...hurts like a biatch is what I have heard.
