Mine is 1.5 acres but most of that is heavily treed.

Craftsman mulching tractor is fine, I use a Troy Bilt push mower for the front, it is easier on the turf, looks better.

I have a Bad Boy ZT Elite 54" w/mulching deck. Prior to that I had the Craftsman ZT 50" w/mulching deck. These mowers are night and day difference. After mowing with the Craftsman, I felt like I had been kicked by a mule. Also the Craftsman had narrower tires and made ruts in the yard. The Bad Boy Elite has a very comfortable seat and a suspension system that gives it a better ride. Now all zero turns are heavy. If the ground is soft, you are going to leave depressions. That's why I have a regular Craftsman garden tractor for soft conditions. But when it is dry, I use the Bad Boy.

Look at one of the new stand on mowers. I just sold my grasshopper ZT and will never go back to sitting down.

I'd think that would depend on size of the mow job. I mow at the church I attend and it is over 6 acres with lots of trees and enough lower hanging limbs to be an obstacle if standing. Mowing can take up to 5 hours and I don't know if I want to stand that long.

One good thing about a stand-on is you wouldn't have to stop mowing ever time you needed to whizz.

Toro ZT with platform that has suspension platform. It is like riding on a cloud but it makes skid marks in your yard if you turn too sharp.

Cub Cadet tractor - nice mower and still runs but not as nice to ride on.

Looks more like rolling plains than hills.
