Mow up/down a slope, no problem. Mow across one, not so good/smart.

This is especially true if you have a 34" zero turn.

I`ve owned 2 of each the past 25 years. Only was I would ever own a lawn tractor again would be to put a bagger system on it. ZTR`s aren`t as easy to put bags on them. They are my #1 choice though. You don`t want to ever bag you grass............Get a ZTR.

Biggest reason I went conventional riding mower was the bagger. 48" cut with 3 blades and will do it at over 5mph.

zero turn or just hire it out, life is too short for a conventional mower on an acre or larger

GOOGLE says.....
Key points to remember:
Check your mower manual: Always consult your specific mower's user manual for its exact slope capability.
Safety first: Never mow on slopes steeper than recommended, and always use caution when mowing on any incline.
Mowing across slopes: When possible, mow across the slope rather than directly up and down.

THIS

I've mowed across hills for years, but my old ZT was 54" and new one is 72". I can't see them rolling unless it's like 45 degree slope, in which case a LT would have rolled long before then.

But yeah as long as you're 48" plus and smart about what direction you go, the heavy motor is actually same height or lower on a ZT, and they also often come with roll bars. LTs will roll easily also.

a ZT is only faster because you don't have a free hand to drink beer with.

If mowing across the slope always turn uphill not down. This applies to all not just zero turns. My lot is a little over an acre. A little less then 1/2 of it is fairly open without a lot of obstacles like trees. I don't think the time savings would justify the cost in my case.
