Ok, first time out in a bit. New lake. When I left the boat ramp my navigation didn’t show lake. It showed street names of the subdivision I live in. When I got out into the main river channel it worked. But it wouldn’t show the big creek I launched from. I know it is old unit but it shows part of the river just not all of it. Anyone?

If the location of the last time the unit was used is a long ways from you, it takes some time for the GPS to re-establish general location.
The built-in ContourXD mapping is the 2006 coverage that Navionics had so if you want more data, you need a more modern map card. Humminbirds read Navionics map cards and Lakemaster map cards. BUT the 1198c SI Combo will not read the current Lakemaster VX map cards, so you would need a legacy card.
