thats enough to get you DQ'd?

Apparently so. Sounds like some anglers in these trails need to read up on the rules. The grey area stuff is becoming more black and white.

Ha, yes, you’d be breaking the rules. Asking for forgiveness later only really works at home, haha

Actually they had people killed that didn’t do anything- hence the term “witch hunt” guys getting busted were actually breaking the rules.

Here is $0.02.

I'm 78 years old. Fished my first derby in 1975. Fished a lot of them, small and large.

I always knew the rules.

No sympathy for people that don't. You don't have to like them, but you better know what they are.

HAVING ACQUAINTED MYSELF WITH THE RULES AND REQUIREMENTS IN THIS BOOKLET, I HAVE SIGNED
AND DATED THE PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT.

If you sign the participation agreement but have not acquainted yourself with the rules, you have committed a dq offense.

actually I think every conversation you have with anyone before and during a tournament is entering the gray area....you could ask somebody what the weather is gonna be like today and that could be interpreted to seeking info.....they really need to simplify by making it against the rules to hire guides or buy waypoints as the only rule.....we had tournaments for years where there were no rulings on getting info and every fisherman had a network of friends helping him with info about the fishing on a lake...
