I think the air conditioner on the side of the slide out keeps them from retracting the slide in... Probably realized that after the fact... Kills the aerodynamics, but you do what ya gotta do to keep the Mrs's happy... Dan

Back in November I got behind one running 55 on 106 east of Rio Hondo, with two slideouts extended. Scary........

It's illegal to drive down the road with the slide out extended out so, yes, it could be East Texas. There's at least a 50% chance the spare is a may-pop stolen off someones lowboy.

I think that they are moving the MIL home, and she's probably still inside. Prolly on the toilet which is not hooked up to the black tank but open to the roadway.
